“A subtle reminder how humans always have connection with nature.”
Located at the foot of Mount Tangkuban Parahu, an active volcano in West Java, SADA is a commercial area surrounded by a 5.8-hectare forest.
From the start, SADA was designed not to be a building that dominates the surrounding environment, but to be a space with a subtle presence that blends with the forest and avoids any intervention to nature as much as possible.
As the main area of SADA, the pavilion was built on a clearing area that has existed since the beginning–between man-made pine forest and secondary forest. The purpose of this pavilion is to provide a place for people to enjoy the forest up close but still have shelter. Therefore, the building is not closed off with any wall and is left open, providing visitors with a seamless experience connecting with nature.
