“An urban oasis in the heart of a metropolitan.”
Mitsugo House is a residential house in central Jakarta that addresses the problem of rising temperatures, changing air quality, and the need to find communal space.
The house is designed to be a residence that adapts to the current conditions in Jakarta. The house facade is subtle with well-maintained privacy–a contrast with other houses in the area where the front can be seen easily from the street.
The inner courtyard is adorned with greeneries and natural stone where all the main windows and doors face. The house uses natural materials such as wood-textured exposed concrete, ironwood, and natural raw granite slabs.
The indoor and outdoor areas are seamlessly connected by glass sliding doors, creating borderless space for people to enjoy the whole garden whenever they want. It gives control to the residents to have good air circulation. Therefore, it can reduce the use of air conditioners. The transition also transforms the space from private use to a communal area.
